During jointing and thickness calibration, the surface and final thickness of the foam materials are defined. Machining across the grain – medium cut quality

A medium quality cut is often required when machining a stepped rebate in hard foams. Tooling sets made up of tungsten tipped circular sawblades with rebate cutters mounted either side of the saw are ideal as both cutting and rebating are carried out simultaneously. The rebate cutters can be replaced by other tooling systems depending on the product and production process and quantity.

Depending on the requirements and process design, individual tool solutions are needed for subsequent processing. With specific applications such as the insertion of grooves, the cutting of decorative molds or the re-processing of residual materials into the manufacturing process enables subsequent processing to be carried out quickly and cost-effectively.

Shredding

In the production of foams, remnants, rejects or overproductions are usually shredded in order to be returned to the manufacturing process. Leitz offers individually designed tool solutions for such requirements which adapt to the overall process.
